The 12 Elements of Power™ Training

This half-day or full-day training is an introduction to the 12 Elements of Power, the common language for all the trainings from Working with Power, designed as a great first step for:

  • companies ready to make a “pilot” investment
  • individuals curious about the other programs we offer
  • leaders wondering what their reports are learning in the full-day trainings

Learning Objectives:

Each participant will leave this session able to:

  • Understand the 12 Elements of Power model
  • Identify behaviors in themselves and others that demonstrate active, under-active, and distorted Elements of Power
  • Understand the effects of depletion on the work environment
  • Identify their own and others’ depletion and address it effectively
  • Acknowledge productive behavior using the language of the Elements so that they encourage more and articulate why that behavior is productive and its impact
  • Talk about unproductive behavior in a compassionate way that easily invites change and identifies simple remedies
  • Use a new toolkit, provided in the materials for the course, that gives them a wide range of options for applying each of the 12 Elements of Power both personally in their work and as they lead others

NOTE: These are standard training objectives for this program and can be adjusted based on the client’s particular needs.

Participants and Facilities:

This program is led with two facilitators for groups up to 60 participants. As an all-day training, it is best led in a room with large round tables to seat six individuals per table in crescents (all facing the presenters). Lunch should be catered into the room by the event organizer. Continental breakfast and table linens are important but optional touches. Working with Power’s event fees include participant materials (workbooks and other special surprises) and supplies for creating atmosphere in the room.

This same topic can also be condensed into a half-day training, in which case the facilities could be somewhat simpler. We will work with you to determine what will best serve your group.
